Shane's rib shack was good while it lasted. However this was a test site and Shane's never did open other locations in the area. Shane's is now permanently closed. However, there will be another BBQ restaurant that will open in that location. It just won't be called Shane's Rib Shack.
Pros: Quick and friendly service. Fair prices. Variety of BBQ options. Original BBQ sauce is tasty.Cons: Brisket was tough and very dry. Mac 'n cheese had little flavor. Not impressed with food quality.
Good food, fair prices. Can't go wrong stopping here for a bite to eat .
The first time we went to Shane’s was years ago and it was great. We’ve gone a handful of times since then and after yesterday’s visit, we definitely will not be going back. The pulled pork was cold and mushy. The green beans were obviously from a can and microwaved; they sat in a pool of disgusting liquid and were inedible. The chicken tenders had no flavor and were extremely dry. I know they say the meat is made fresh and chopped daily, but if I had to guess, the pulled pork mush was also old and plopped on the plate after the microwave (same with the chicken; maybe it was breaded fresh at one point but it obviously was frozen and fried to death). There’s a reason this place was empty for our entire visit.
Shane's isn't the best BBQ place around but it isn't bad. Everything tastes a bit processed (probably because it is) and I've yet to have good beef there. Their side dishes are lackluster and I've never tried the desserts. Their chicken is pretty good, though, and I'm a fan of their BBQ sauce. The service has always been quick and they're not terribly over priced. There are better places out there but if you're in a hurry Shane's isn't a bad choice.
Slow service. Big daddy wasn't big at all. Tasted decent.
Terrible quality, I have tried to like this place but the quality of food is just repeatedly awful. Tonight was a plate of cold fatty pulled pork. The baked beans are served super hot (probably microwaved) in a Styrofoam container. I hope the owner/manager reads this and makes improvements.
The BBQ Pork is always excellent, but I've found the service and the mac and cheese to be more variable. I've had delicious mac and cheese here, but also some that tastes like it's flavoring is butter, not cheese. Similarly I've had prompt service and slow service.
My first and last time here...Soda is flat, my one and only side was terrible - baked beans (baked beans! How do you mess up baked beans?), my husband got a sampler platter, chicken had NO flavor, the Texas "toast" was only toasted on one side (again, how do you get that wrong?!), bbq sauce is so watered down -disgusting all around! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star but couldn't give less. Total waste of $30! Save your money go else where.
The food was terrible, service was worse. 2 people came in had ribs and fries, didn't pay. They knew the girl behind the counter. When we left they were outside. Including the girl who works there.
Our favorite chicken tenders in town. Unfortunately we will be hunting for a new spot because the last three times we stopped for a bite they were closed. 9:00 is closing time, yet a hand written sign on the door stating "We are closing at 8:00 at tonight" seems to be their approach to serving customers.
Just not that impressive. I have no issues with strip mall BBQ joints, I have been to some great ones. Shane's was just lacking. From the rather uninterested cashier to the ho-hum BBQ it was not a great experience. The BBQ was not *bad* but it had no personality. Kind of like a black and white version of BBQ compared to a full color version. Just something missing. Never a good sign when everything around is busy and your not!
The food was great. It arrived rather quick to our table. The green beans had lots of flavor to them. Was happy to hear they offered raspberry melba for the sweet potato fries.
Used to be a good restaurant but it's gone way downhill over the past year or so. I went for lunch the past two days in a row and the place was closed, no explanation, no sign, just lights out, nobody home. It's far from the first time that's happened, either. The food is fine, but if nobody can guess whether you'll even be open or not, don't expect a lot of repeat business.
This place has gone to the dogs! No wonder they are closing. Should have closed a year ago. Went tonight because my kid wanted a Big Dad sandwich. First I go in and I’m told they only take cash no credit cards. Then I order and I’m told they have no tortillas for the Shack Wrap. The girl at the counter said she’d run over to Moe’s and get some tortillas. I said “Fine”. I left and came back 20 mins. later. She didn’t have a chance to get the tortillas (no one else was in the place) so she made me a salad instead! At this point I didn’t care so I left with the food. When I got to the car I checked the bag to make sure I had the entire order. No frieand no mozzarella sticks. I go back in and tell the girl. She brings out the missing items a few minutes later. When I get home I’m missing the potato salad. All the food sucked.
Always enjoy the quality of the food. Clean with friendly service.
Food on menu not available, very quiet, food just okay
There is a bonus here with the great food and the Pub. The food and service is above average and it is hard to find a Pub with really good food as well which this place has.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin, I called twice to make a to go order, no one answered and I thought well it’s a Friday night they are probably busy. So I decide to dine-in, when I get there, the place is empty besides two customers. I order my meal, pay, by the time I sit down my food is already being brought out, dry & cold. The one person they had working up front hid in the back, on their phone the whole time. The place was a mess, the service was horrific, unapproachable even. I wouldn’t recommend anybody going there. I usually give places & people the benefit of the doubt. It was impossible for me to do here. I wish there was a no stars rating.
Fast service. Great sauces and unique atmosphere for fast food.
Went for ribs, said they didn't have any. What a joke...
Good brisket and macaroni and cheese. The ribs and potato salad weren't very good.
As soon as you walk in, the floors are sticky and there is a sickly sweet smell in the air of trash that hasn't been taken out for a while. Next the chopped chicken and chopped pork was very dry, they had obviously spent too long under a heat lamp. Speaking of heat lamp the mac & cheese had also spent many hours drying and over cooking under one. When I spoke to the manager on duty, I was told the franchise owner only comes in once a year, and the store manager is hardly there either. All in all a terrible experience, and unless the quality greatly improves, I will not be spending my money here again.
WORST BBQ I HAVE EVER HAD. ORDERED THE COMBO PLATER. THE RIBS WERE DRY CHEWY AND NO SMOKE RING OR SMOKED FLAVOR. THE PULLED PORK WAS GENERIC LIKE IT CAME OUT OF A CAN. AND THE CHICKEN TENDERS WERE SO OVER COOKED THAT THEY COULD NOT BE EATEN. IT IS A SHAME DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY ALSO HAVE A GLUTEN FREE MENU. SO MY CO WORKERS WOULD BE ALBLE TO EAT THERE ALSO.
I love Shanes. The Chicken tenders are awesome and the peach cobbler is amazing.
Very good ribs & portions are large.
Food was of average quality and had good flavor but was kind of mushy. Sweet tea was over sweetened. Baby back ribs were okay and pulled pork had good flavor what was over processed
ok ribs, good place if ever other place is packed
Food was bland and sandwich was put together poorly. Green beans were from a can and the Mac n Cheese was BLAZING hot.
Love this place! Chicken, beef brisket, pulled pork are all delicious. I visit whenever I'm in the area.
Tried to go for lunch. Hours said they were supposed to open. Someone there. Knocked on the door multiple times and ignored. Went again the other night and was told they only had pork and chicken fingers because the cook quit. NEED to get it together.
Food is fairly good, miss the peach tea, clerks are indifferent.
I was very disappointed by there ribs. The lady working was talking to her friend and on the phone texting. No one came by after I got my food. I should have know better when no one was in the place to turn around go somewhere else. I will never go back. If this place was in Texas would be close in a week
Hit and miss. Some things are sometimes good, other things are rarely good. Not sure its a place worth going to anymore based on that. Questionable food quality.
Reasonable sized portions, great tasting pulled pork, multiple types of BBQ sauce available
The food is good but Monday 2/13/17 we traveled south from Saratoga only to find the place closed before 9:00PM. No note on the door, the open sign was on, the restaurant lights out. Drove down again on Tuesday and found the door locked at 8:14 PM. People were still inside eating. You might want to call before going or maybe find someplace else you know is going to be open. There are lot of establishments out there vying for your dollar with good food and that are open the hours they state they're going to be open. Not very convenient.
Great food great service over all. My minor gripes are that the sweet tea isn't always the sweetest and they should have more sauce bottles out.
Humm... Shane's usually serves an excellent BBQ but this time the pulled pork wasn't smokey like normal. Not sure what was up.
Food was absolutely disgusting , waste of $30. All the food tastes like old pork grease. Now i have to go spend more money on dinner. Wont be returning EVER
Great food fast homemade sides coleslaw excellent.
The pulled pork and brisket are out of this world. I wish I could say the same thing about the Mac and cheese but every time I come here to eat it's mysteriously out of stock. I can't help but think that the 16 year old tooth sucking princesses behind the counter and the zit popping pre-pubecsent Douch-bags in the kitchen simply don't feel like cleaning up the mess of preparing one of the simplest dishes known to man. Laziness is not the only problem at this location either. The customer service is awful. I have to wait an extra 10 minutes after ordering my food so that the only poor sap working here over the age of 18 can poor my alcoholic beverage which upon receiving is nothing but a half plastic cup full of warm liquid and foam. I've had better beer out of a natty-ice keg in a frat party. The servers always seem bothered by customers entering and I can't help but think I'm not welcome. 6 attempts has been more than enough for me. I will not be returning for number 7.
Ok first off, the actual food is ok. With that being said, they might as well take Mac n cheese off the menu, because if you aren't here before 5pm you're not getting any. Also when you order a beer don't expect anything more than a plastic cup filled with foam. The customer service makes you feel like a chaperone at a middle school dance with the teeth sucking and eye rolling. The look of disgust you receive when you walk in the door is unpleasant. Sorry for bothering you by coming into a restaurant during dinner hours. Like I said it's a shame the staples are good but everything is very unpleasant
Sitting here currently, one person at my booth has recieved their meal, myself my wife and our child have not. Its been over 35 minutes, when I asked the girl at the front went in the back and then came to my table and said she just found the slip and it'll be four minutes. She then came back two minutes later and said they didnt have burgers so my son would have to order something else, another two minutes went by and she brought my wife and I incorrect meals and then returned them to the back, one person in my party is now done eating and three of us have not recieved our food. If the store was busy I could possibly understand this but there is two people here. I'm extremely disappointed.... She just brought the food, which again was wrong, and gave us 6 dollars back on our 40 dollar bill.
Pretty standard bbq, not anything special. I also didn't feel like you got much for how expensive it was. Good if you are really craving bbq but that's about it
Perhaps we just came on a bad day, but our food was room temperature. We got an order of smoked barbecued wings that were actually cold. I asked for hot sauce on the side and they poured it over the wings. I usually give places a second try but I have no desire to return
My son loves it. The rib is mouthwatering. Kid's meal is very inexpensive.
Just ate there .brought home a hamburg for my son.he couldn't eat it.it was so burnt it was charred. You should fire that cook cause he had to know this .!! Ya I'll be back!!
Sampler platter, pulled pork & ribs excellent, chicken tenders ok, Brunswick stew very yummy. Plus Texas toast!
